A first-time diagnosis of autism in a child can be an overwhelming and stressful time for parents and families. My Next Steps: A Parent's Guide to Understanding Autism serves as a road map for parents dealing with this challenging period and seeks to provide answers to the many questions that arise during the journey from autism diagnosis to treatment. The DVD is produced by the University of Washington Autism Center and funded by Washington State legislature. Through interviews with experts and treatment providers, My Next Steps familiarizes parents with topics that are crucial in providing the best support for their child.

- POCA (Parents of Children with Autism) holds a dinner night out on the first Monday of every month. To receive a reminder, sign up here.
- The Arc of Tri-Cities offers parent support through Parent to Parent. You can email Patty Carey or call her (509) 946-5157 ext:108 for more information.
- The Autism Resource Center is available to assist the Hispanic communit. Support group meetings are the 1st & 3rd Thursday of every month. Please contact Yadira for more information at 380-0397 or 591-1001.
- Responding to Autism has a variety of services available including support groups, RDI, and resource referral. Contact Christine Lindgren for more information or call 591-1205.
Informational and Consultative Services
- The Neurological Resource Center provides information including a lending library and a monthly newsletter. Contact information: 712 Swift Blvd Suite 1, Richland, (509) 943-8455.
- Responding to Autism Consultation Services helps families become empowered and respond to Autism through many different programs, including a monthly newsletter. For more information call (509) 591-1205.
